Ferrari has finally unveiled its replacement for the F430 with the much-anticipated 458 Italia.  The announcement of the new Ferrari 458 Italia, the successor to the current Ferrari 430 model, representsa giant leap forward in design, technology and environmental efficiency for the Italian automaker. A two-seat berlinetta, Ferrari calls its 458 Italia “a completely new car from every point of view: engine, design, aerodynamics, handling, instrumentation and ergonomics.”

2011 Ferrari 458 Italia’s power comes from a 4.5L V8, which is the first Ferrari direct-injection engine to be mid-rear mounted. It delivers a total of 570-hp at 9,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 398 lb-ft at 6,000 rpm – over 80 percent of which is available from 3,250 rpm. In plain English – that is stunningly fast. Mated to a dual-clutch 7-speed F1 gearbox, 0 to 62 mph comes in just 3.4 seconds with a top speed of over 202 mph. Wondering how many miles per gallon you’ll get with the 458 Italia? Ferrari estimates average fuel-consumption at 13.7 l/100 km, which is 17.1 mpg on our side of the world.

Ferrari Enzo F70

 Ferrari will introduce a special series named, Ferrari Enzo. The cars have been announced by Fiat and Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne at a press conference. Ferrari is focusing on reducing the next generation Enzo’s mass in an attempt to increase speed and handling without necessarily having to force more air and fuel into the F70’s combustion chambers. The F70 will be based around a compact footprint and weigh in at no more than 1,000 kilograms.

The engine the latest word is that the F70 will go possibly with a twin-turbo V8. Only the F70′s direct-injected engine will use the very latest technologies to eliminate turbo lag, achieve 670-700 bhp yet return excellent (for a Ferrari) fuel mileage and low emissions. A hybrid powertrain seems to be unlikely for the F70. The F70 should reach 60 mph in less than 3 seconds. The car with a wheelbase of 104.3 inches and a raft of active aerodynamics on board, the F70 will weigh around 2,200 pounds and will look different from any other model.

The Ferrari F70 goes on sale in 2012, it could very well cost over $1 million.

James Glickenhaus has released their one-off Ferrari P4/5 Competizione. It is a modern interpretation of the original racing car and it has been developed primarily for track duty.

Features:
This Ferrari features the suspension and V8 drivetrain of an F430 GT2 ALMS racing car. It is a custom built Ferrari F136 DOHC V8 engine at 90 degrees with 32-valve and 4-vlaves per cylinder. It generates 483HP and 343 lb-ft torque.

The performance has become as no longer enough and the racing inspired looks needed an update. Enter the Ferrari P4/5 Competizione, the racing version of the street legal single unit production. The exterior of this car is purely one of a racing car. This car features a massive silver rear spoiler for optimum downforce. Jim Glickenhaus is a creator of this car and he chooses its car model to base on the combination of the F430 underpinnings and F430 GT2’s drivetrain.

Other exterior features include aerodynamic kits, air intakes on the hood, doors and rear of the car, and a fighter jet looking black glass cockpit, though we imagine the actual car’s windows won’t be that dark for safety reasons.

The F430 Spider is the convertible version based on the coupé. The F430 Spider is Ferrari's 21st road going convertible. The Spider is just like the coupé quite similar in looks to the Ferrari 360.
The roof panel automatically folds away inside a space above the engine bay. The conversion from a closed top to an open-air convertible is a two-stage folding action. After a short to and fro the entire top disappears into a closed storage area between the seating and the engine.
The interior of the Spider is identical to that of the coupé.

1963 Ferrari 250 GTO

UK radio and television personality Chris Evans is said to have bagged one of the rarest Ferraris ever. A 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO, one of only 36 ever built between 1962 and 1963, is said to have finally landed in the DJ’s garage. Apparently he has been searching for one for many years and even came very close to a purchase 15 years ago. Yesterday he posted a photo on Twitter alongside the caption “the new one has arrived”, thus confirming his latest acquisition.

Reports say 44 year-old Evans shelled out a cool £12 million (US$17.7 million) for the classic sports car. What he paid for includes history, an aluminium 3.0-litre V12 engine with 216kW (290bhp/ 294PS) at 8,000 rpm, as well as rear-wheel-drive.

It will probably park alongside other Ferraris the man keeps at his place, including a Nero Black 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder that once belonged to actor James Coburn.
